Texting and Sex
Do you text when having sex? An article by the Long Beach Press Telegram shows a recent survey conducted by the Retrevo consumer electronics review website that showed that 1 in 10 people under 25 say it’s OK to be sending or receiving texts while engaging in sex. The study goes on to cite other situations that under 25′s feel it is ok to text during; business meetings, speeches, luncheons, etc, that older folks don’t and that the trend will continue to grow and become commonplace.
I’m only 32 and this article made me feel ancient or as if I’m from another planet, more like I’m from another planet. Never mind what it says about us as a society and our interpersonal relations and all that. How about the logistics of it? You are giving your partner mind-blowing oral sex, treating him to the best cocksucking of his life, and your phone beeps. Do you stop what you’re doing and tell him you’ll get right back to him after you answer your friend’s message? Do you continue, after all it’s your mouth that’s busy and you only need one hand to text right? I have this picture in my mind of a woman on top bouncing away with her cell phone in hand reading her messages.
I’ve said before that sex is a small vacation, an escape from the world for a bit. I still feel that way, probably even more now, and phone sex fills that need a way few things can, a private escape from reality.
